Hello lovelies,
Going to a college of art, I have to ensure I put a lot of hard work and enthusiasm into my work. I need to make sure I put the most possible effort into my work as much as I can do. Over the summer 2013, I have been given a brief to research into certain things, so enable me to understand what I want to do in further education. I have a few tasks to undertake..
1. visit exhibitions and end of year degree shows, this will help me understand what I will want my outcome to be at the end of my education at Leeds College of Art. Visiting these certain places, will help me to realise what I want to do and also get inspiration from different artists. I will ensure to visit as many different university end of year degree shows, and attain exhibitions in galleries and museums. I will take photographs of my findings and reflect on how the certain topics effect me and my understanding.
2. Research into different different fashion designers, artists and makers. I want to gather as much information about each topic and career as I can. As I am not too sure what I want to do yet when I leave Leeds College of Art, I will need to understand which career I enjoy more and want to undertake throughout my future. I plan to research a variety of different artists and designers to also create a mind-map to which sort of path I want to take.
3. I will research into articles in subject specific journals on different designers, exhibitions, fashion shows. I will probably find articles like this in magazines such as; Harpers Bazaar, Elle, Vogue, Selvedge and also on-line at fashion news articles. As I read many of these in my day to day life, this will be easy, I will just need to ensure I research into these subjects in depth.
4. I would like to look into fashion Illustrations as well, as I haven't really tried doing these myself, I am going to research into different artists and designers that inspire me and will help me create my own illustrations. I am going to experiment using different media's, such as; paints, oil and chalk etc.. using the artists and illustrations style and also including my own.
5. I am also going to look into learning some new techniques. Throughout the design, fashion and textiles world. I will need to have certain things that I like to specialise in, looking into new techniques will not also give me inspiration for future preferences but for my next brief in Leeds Colleges of Art. This could be something I discover throughout the End of Year Degree Shows I visit, exhibitions or just certain things I have read about in journals and books. I will record the technical information about the process's and materials, I will also experiment and create sample pieces for my work.
